Terry Collins became a name partner in Johns, Flaherty & Collins
when members of his firm, Collins, Quillin & Knothe, joined Johns &
Flaherty in 2004. An exemplary member of the community and an
excellent lawyer, Terry’s experience and concentration areas, along
with those of his colleagues, have expanded both the firm’s
specialties and its commitment to the community.
Terry has been practicing law since 1977. An active trial lawyer, he
has represented hundreds of people in personal injury litigation and
commercial litigation. He also concentrates in business, real
estate, wills, trusts and probate law. He earned a bachelor’s degree
from the University of Wisconsin – La Crosse and a law degree from
the University of Wisconsin – Madison.
Signifying his commitment to the profession, Terry maintains several
professional affiliations, including membership in the Wisconsin
State Bar, Minnesota State Bar, the Association of Trial Lawyers of
America, the Wisconsin Academy of Trial Lawyers and the La Crosse
County Bar Association (where he is a past president). He is also
Board Certified by the National Board of Trial Advocacy as a Civil
Trial Specialist, demonstrating his skill and expertise in trial
advocacy as well as his integrity and dedication to clients.
Terry has been selected twice for inclusion in Wisconsin Super Lawyers, an
honor designed to recognize the top five percent of lawyers
throughout the state as determined by peers and independent
research.
Born and raised in La Crosse, Wis., Terry became a lawyer to allow
him to participate in the legal system and the public affairs of his
community. He served as co-chair of the La Crosse Comprehensive Plan
Committee and currently serves as a commissioner on the La Crosse
Heritage Preservation Commission.
Terry and his wife, Karolyn, have three daughters and two
grandchildren.
