Joe joined Johns, Flaherty & Collins in 1998 and became a partner in
2005, continuing the firm's good neighbor, great lawyer tradition.
A
member of our personal/family services and business/employment
groups, Joe's practice areas include commercial, personal injury,
consumer and other civil litigation (including appeals),
landlord-tenant law, criminal defense and civil rights.
Joe received his bachelor's degree in 1992 and his law degree in
1998 - both from the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he is a
member of the Law School's moot court board. He is admitted to
practice law in Wisconsin and in the United States District Court
for the Eastern and Western Districts of Wisconsin. He is a member
of the La Crosse County Bar Association and the State Bar of
Wisconsin.
Joe has already amassed an impressive volunteer record - both in his
professional activities and in community service. He is past
treasurer and member of the La Crosse Area Young Lawyers
Association, past president of the La Crosse Association of Criminal
Defense Lawyers, was Bench-Bar Liaison for the La Crosse County Bar
Association, and is a member of the Wisconsin and National
Associations of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Joe was selected for
inclusion in Wisconsin Super Lawyers — Rising Stars Edition 2007, an honor
developed through independent research by Law & Politics to
recognize the top 2.5 percent of lawyers in Wisconsin who are 40 or
younger or have been in practice ten years or less.
In addition,
Joe has volunteered for many years as a volunteer judge for both the
college and regional high school mock trial competitions. He is on
the board of directors and executive committee for the Coulee Region
Business Center, and has volunteered for many years for the Greater
Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Association. Joe is also District 3 County
Board Supervisor for La Crosse County. He is also a graduate
of the Greater La Crosse Area Chamber of Commerce Leadership
Program.
