Three questions with David Pierce

David Pierce joined Johns, Flaherty & Collins in 2017 after graduating from the University of Wisconsin Law School and today is our newest partner. He focuses his practice on criminal defense, employment law, insurance, litigation, municipal and school law. Seeing his responses to our three questions, we've bequeathed him a new nickname and shall henceforth call him our legal eagle.

Attorney David PierceWhat's your favorite TV show and why?

My favorite TV show that is still producing new episodes is Ted Lasso. It would be too hard to narrow down my all-time favorite TV show because there are so many good ones. I enjoy how Ted Lasso blends an upbeat storyline with some dark twists and turns, along with being a good comedy.

Who or what would you like to be in your next life if you are reincarnated?

This is ironic because I do not really like birds, but I think it would be great to be a bald eagle. Federal law would protect me from being hunted by humans, which was definitely a factor in my decision-making process to this question. I could just fly around the beautiful Midwest and go fishing all day, which doesn't sound so bad.

Which of your attributes helps you most in your work as a lawyer?

I grew up on a dairy farm and am the youngest of five siblings. Being the youngest of several siblings gave me the ability to get along with numerous different types of personalities. This allows me to develop positive working relationships with clients and create connections that make clients feel comfortable even though no two clients are the same. Growing up on a dairy farm imposed a strong work ethic on me from a very young age.
